CBD Hash: types, textures, and how to choose yours

CBD hash is the concentrated resin from hemp flowers. Although it is sometimes confused with traditional hashish, in the legal CBD world artisanal extractions are used that preserve unique terpene profiles and comply with the 0.2% THC limit.

How CBD hash is made

The basic technique consists of separating the trichomes (the resin glands where cannabinoids and terpenes are concentrated) from the plant material. The way this separation is carried out defines the type of hash.

Main types of CBD hash

Charas / Hand-rolled charas

Traditionally made by rubbing fresh flowers with the hands. Soft and dark texture, with an intense, earthy flavor. In India and the Himalayas this technique is centuries old.

Dry sift

Dried flowers are sifted through fine mesh screens to separate the trichomes by size. The result is a golden or brown powder, easy to press. This is the method used in Morocco for traditional kif.

Ice O Lator / Bubble Hash

Ice-cold water is used so the trichomes detach, then they are filtered through bags of different micron sizes. It is the cleanest method: the result is a very pure concentrate, free of plant matter. Its texture is grainy or compact depending on the pressure applied.

Rosin

It is pressed with heat and pressure, without solvents. It is technically the most “pure” option, but it requires top-quality flowers for the result to be worthwhile.

How to choose CBD hash according to your profile

• If you like the traditional side: start with a Nepalese charas or Moroccan dry sift. Soft texture, earthy flavor, mild effect.
• If you are looking for maximum purity: an ice o lator with a 90-120u micron size is the cleanest on the market.
• If you want intensity: try the moonrock, a CBD flower coated in hash and oil. Concentrated potency and flavor.

How to store CBD hash

To preserve its properties, keep it in an airtight container, in a cool and dry place, away from direct light. It can last for months without losing quality if you store it properly. Avoid heat: terpenes are volatile.
